At Smith’s Eldercare, we offer various learning and social activities. We provide everything our attendees need for a comfortable and safe stay. We will make sure all your loved one’s unique needs are taken care of. Smiths Eldercare offers weekday care for older adults who can’t be left alone or unsupervised due to dementia or an inability to care for themselves. Participants come to the center on a regular basis while their family members work, run errands or simply take a break. We can be a huge help for family caregivers.
Drop-in services are not typically available, so call ahead of time. Attendees usually follow a regular schedule, coming in a few hours a week, one day a week or every weekday.
You’ll have to check with the center to make sure it is able to accommodate your loved one’s needs. For example, does he need help eating or using the bathroom? Does she need medication during the day? Does he sometimes engage in challenging behaviors? People at the end stages of Alzheimer’s or the advanced stages of dementia or chronic illness may not a good fit for an adult day services. Ask if you’re not sure.
